Meet David Kiner

David Kiner was born and raised in Enfield in a household where a commitment to public service and helping others was a way of life. After graduating from Eastern Connecticut State University with a degree in Political Science, he returned home determined to give back to the community that had given him so much.
David joined the Enfield Lions Club and was appointed to the Enfield Inland/Wetlands Commission. In 2007, he was elected to the Enfield Town Council and re-elected in 2009. Throughout his public service, David’s commitment has been and always will be fighting for the hardworking families of our state. On the Council, he proposed property tax reform for seniors and those on fixed incomes and worked to ensure that local students received the best education possible.
After college, David was employed by the Connecticut General Assembly as Clerk of the Public Safety Committee. In 2010, he won a seat in the State House of Representatives, where he served three terms before deciding not to seek re-election in 2016. As a State Representative, David fought tirelessly for his constituents, bringing a record amount of state funding back to the district and advocating for the educational opportunities students deserved.
Today, David serves as Executive Director of Educational Resources for Children (ERfC) in Enfield and remains an active member of the community. He lives in Somers with his wife, Gina, and their three daughters, Juliet, Siena, and Lucia.
